BitMEX is ranked #8 among crypto brokers. Tradeview is ranked #33 among CFD brokers.
BitMEX is a crypto exchange and derivatives trading platform, launched in 2014. The firm offers a fiat–crypto onramp, spot trading, and crypto derivatives including perpetual contracts, traditional futures and quanto futures. BitMEX offers amongst the largest market liquidity of any cryptocurrency exchange. Tradeview is an offshore forex and CFD broker based in the Cayman Islands and regulated by CIMA. Traders can access over 5000 instruments with a minimum deposit of $100. There are several third-party platforms on offer, including MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and cTrader.
Risk Warning- CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Between 74% - 89% of retail investors' accounts lose money when trading CFDs. You should consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money. 74-89% of retail CFD accounts lose money.
Pros
  • The Guilds social trading service allows traders to participate in competitions and earn rewards, including a weekly prize pool worth 4,000 USDT at the time of writing
  • BitMEX continues to deliver a considerable amount of market information for free, as well as trading guides and community channels on Discord, Telegram and more
  • The broker offers high levels of security, using a combination of hot and cold wallets and cryptography key management
  • The native token, BMEX, can be staked with up to 15% trading fee discounts, among other exclusive privileges
  • Comprehensive customizability is available within the platform, with movable widgets and order book filters
  • Traders have the opportunity to connect with investors using the intuitive inbuilt chat feature
  • The exclusive crypto platform makes it more streamlined than other multi-asset terminals
  • Traders can earn interest if they HODL Tether and Bitcoin
  • The broker offers 2 API systems for seasoned traders
  • The main thing that stands out for me is the wide range of platforms available at Tradeview, including the MetaTrader terminals, cTrader and Currenex, plus several software options for the broker’s real stocks trading service
  • Through STP/ECN execution, the broker is able to achieve raw pricing on popular assets. Tradeview also charges very low commissions from $2.50 per lot per side
  • My tests uncovered a strong range of 60+ currency pairs, which is above the industry average and should allow serious forex traders to explore plenty of opportunities
  • I found a decent range of payment methods available at Tradeview, with no deposit fees and same-day processing times
  • In addition, TradeView is a liquidity provider for other firms, underlining their reliability.
Cons
  • BitMEX is an offshore firm and is not regulated by any reputable authority, though this is common among crypto brokers
  • BitMEX is geared towards more active traders, with fewer tools and features aimed at newbies
  • The broker was involved in a legal dispute with US regulators which resulted in fines
  • Withdrawals are only carried out at a specified time of day
  • Only Bitcoin is accepted for free withdrawals
  • A key drawback for me is the lack of top-tier regulatory oversight. The broker’s offshore regulation with CIMA may mean that traders won’t receive robust fund protection measures. They are however, looking to bolster this area in the near future.
  • I was a little disappointed to find a $35 fee for bank wire withdrawals and a 1-1.5% fee for Skrill and Neteller

I’m happy with Tradeview’s strong range of 60+ currency pairs spanning majors, minors and exotics with competitive spreads from 0 pips in the $1000 ILC account. Traders can choose from several platforms, but I was particularly impressed with the feature-rich Currenex platform which is designed specifically for currency trading.

BitMEX continues to offer a highly competitive crypto trading environment, with cheap $1 contracts and leverage up to 1:100. The broker’s proprietary platform offers cutting-edge trading features, including a customizable order book, a depth chart and dozens of technical indicators. I found 5 crypto products at Tradeview: BTCUSD, ETHUSD, LTCUSD, XRPUSD and BTCJPY. Whilst this isn’t the widest range, beginners should have enough opportunities to explore the market. Plus, with STP/ECN execution, traders should be able to access relatively competitive prices.
