In a media landscape dominated by soundbites and optimised for advertisers, traders and investors who are looking for in depth analysis may benefit by turning their attention to podcasts. Some the best content out there at the moment is available for free, and all you have to do is plug in and listen. Here’s a list of podcasts that I regularly listen to, and just for the record, we haven’t been paid at all for these recommendations nor are we affiliated with them in any way. All of these are available for free on both Apple and Google Play.
If you’re interested in listening to a real hedge fund manager talk about the markets, look no further than Macrovoices. Host Erik Townsend takes a “no holds barred” approach to his podcast, where he gives an analysis of the markets and brings on world class guests. Best of all, they aren’t trying to sell you something and there is no advertising. If you sign up as a member you also get a great weekly research roundup email, with some excellent articles and reports curated by the team.
Adventures in Finance.
Brought to you by the same people that put together Real Vision TV, Adventures in Finance is a weekly podcast that takes more of a documentary or storytelling approach to current or historical topics in finance. You’ll also hear from Raoul Pal, one of the world’s top hedge fund managers and investors. This one is very entertaining, and also super informative.
Chat with Traders.
If you’re looking for interviews with traders then look no further. Each week, Chat with Traders interviews a successful trader and discusses discusses their history, experiences and opinions on various aspects of trading. Every trader has a story and offer some excellent insight into whatever it is that got them to where they are today. The podcasts are entertaining as well. Highly recommended for anyone who’s looking to discover what it takes to become a successful trader.
Two Blokes Trading.
Two blokes trading is just that…two blokes chatting about trading. Interestingly, their approach is slightly different to the others listed as they go into how to actually trade, and offer opinions, advice and guests who go into various aspects of trading. They’re also pretty entertaining guys, and take a laid-back approach to their podcast. It’s a relatively new addition to my podcast rotation, but I’ve subscribed and will be listening more.
